2023 SPOTLIGHT
The Chamber is proud to shine a spotlight on these outstanding leaders for their contributions to Saskatoon and our business community.
Saskatoon Business College will be inducted into the prestigious SABEX Business Hall of Fame. From the time of its founding in 1907 to present day under the leadership and ownership of the Chapman family, SBC has been a gateway for thousands of graduates to enter the workforce, gain meaningful employment and launch successful and productive careers. By extension, hundreds of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan businesses owe their success to SBC’s graduates who have helped them serve their customers, meet new challenges, and grow over the years.
Brendan King, CEO of Vendasta, will be recognized with our new ‘Industry Leader of the Year Award’ to honour his outstanding contributions to our city and province, his thought leadership as a respected tech founder and a vision that has established Vendasta as the #1 platform for selling digital solutions to small businesses.
We are thrilled to include a new ‘Family Business of the Year Award’ as part of the SABEX awards line-up. Family-owned enterprises are unique in the challenges they face and the contributions they make, and Butler Byers Insurance is the perfect choice as this award’s inaugural recipient.
Both Sheri and Woody were born at an exceptionally young age. Like grocery carts with wonky wheels, they both travelled through life not knowing where they were going. Luckily, radio found them! “Mornings with Sheri & Woody” wake up Saskatoon with quick-witted banter and their unique take on life weekdays on Rock 102FM.
You’ll catch Sheri at almost every Blade or Rush game, cheering on the home team! She loves that she gets to make her hometown’s drive to work more fun and be a part of Saskatoon’s vibrant events! When Woody’s not in the studio cracking jokes and lighting up your morning, you’ll likely find him hanging with his wife Allana and three kids – family is everything to him!
Sheri and Woody are very excited to be a part of the SABEX Awards this year! They’re pretty sure that hosting an event as legendary as this is a bad idea… but that’s never stopped them before!
